Green Halloween with Terressentials!

Ugh. Orange and black as the colors for Halloween are SO overdone and cliché. Where's the originality? Where's the creativity?

In order to get the creative juices flowing, we thought we'd present you with a challenge: make Halloween go green! The best costume wins!

Qualities we are looking for in costumes:

1. There is a theme! Having a “green” costume doesn't mean having a costume that is the color green. We like creativity and originality! Even if we don't get your theme at first glance, explain it to us. We'd love to hear it! Also, we LOVE puns. All pun costumes that make us chuckle will help your score. It's okay if your theme isn't punny, though.
   
   
2.  We really prefer that the fabric is made of natural fibers (wool, cotton, linen, etc.). We also highly support costumes that contain reused items. For example, if your shirt was bought at a thrift store, tell us that. While we would not be thrilled with a polyester or rayon item of clothing, let us know that you bought it second-hand. This will help your score!
   
   
3. We love creative “cosmetics” from your fridge! Have you ever used powdered cinnamon to make your skin orange? How about flour to whiten your hair? As a USDA certified organic body care product company we wholeheartedly support natural and inner beauty. A lot of conventional chemical cosmetics and hair styling products contain a good amount of toxins. If you come to us looking totally awesome with an inner spark and enthusiasm in your costume, you will score MUCH higher than someone who comes in dolled-up, slathered in makeup.

How do you enter the contest?

Come in costume to our downtown Frederick store at 100 East Patrick Street between 11 am and 6 pm on the following dates:

Thursday, October 17

Friday, October 18

Saturday, October 19

Thursday, October 24

Friday, October 25

Saturday, October 26

Make sure to bring your filled out entry form with you! We will have a few copies available at our downtown store, but would REALLY appreciate it if you could fill it out beforehand. You can find the entry form at this link.

Then we take your picture! Be ready to tell us your costume's theme and how your costume is “green.” We will try to update the Facebook contest album daily with the entries so everyone can see their competition!

How are the winners decided?

Once we have all of the entries, the Terressentials Team will look at all of the entries at once and decide the winner. We are actually awarding 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. These contestants will win delicious USDA certified organic dark chocolate! The chocolates are flavored with peanut butter or orange. Yummy!

How we will announce the winners:

We will announce the winners on Halloween, Thursday, October 31^st. The winners will be announced on Facebook and contacted privately. Then they can come back to our downtown Frederick store and pick up delicious USDA certified organic vegan chocolate!
