Our Eangee lamps, handmade by a small, fair trade company in the Philippines, defy the laws of nature with their brilliantly colored plant fiber lamp shades, the most popular of which being Eangee's famous leaf-patterned shades. That's right – Eangee lampshades are made from real leaves and other natural materials, making them eco-friendly and mind-boggling! To make these incredible leaf lamp shades, the leaves are carefully selected and undergo a process called “fossilization” in order to preserve them. They are then dyed and hand sewn into intricate patterns. The results are stunning, high-quality, earth-friendly, eclectic fixtures that liven up any room! Ask us to see our Eangee catalog for the complete collection of awe-inspiring designs these artisans offer.

Our Belfast Bay Shades are made in the United States by Dina Petrillo, her husband, Ryan Herz, and several other artisans in their lovely studio in Belfast, Maine. The artists create high-relief plates engraved with designs inspired by the surrounding flora. The plates are then carefully painted and pressed onto linen using an etching press.  Finally, the the artists shape the hand-printed fabric into various cylindrical lampshades. The final product is a breathtaking work of fine art that creates a warm ambiance when illuminated in the evening, and that can be enjoyed throughout the day as a bewitching painting!

Spring Beauty Secrets

Terressentials personal care products embody both truth and beauty. Pure, natural ingredients. No chemicals, no lies. Can you recognize our products in this picture?
According to philosopher and poet Friedrich Von Schiller, "Truth exists for the wise, beauty for the feeling heart." We want all of our customers to have both--true, pure natural ingredients and beautiful, healthy skin and hair.

Here's a sampling of our best skin care advice based on our extensive research in the field of certified organic skin and body care.

Don't wear sunscreen or makeup...

Contrary to what the conventional beauty industry would like you to believe, sunscreens and makeup are not good for you or the environment.  Sunscreens and makeup contain titanium dioxide in nanoparticle form, which makes it very easy for you to breathe in or absorb this unhealthy chemical. Not only are these products poisonous for you, they are unhealthy for the environment when they are manufactured and when they are washed down the drain into our waterways. There are other ways to protect yourself from the sun. Read More>

Develop a skin care routine and stick to it...

Even when you're in a rush, cleanse your face at least twice a day with a certified organic cleanser that contains appropriate ingredients for your skin type. Do a deep clean steaming treatment and apply an organic facial mask at least twice a month, though once a week is ideal. Finally, when your skin is asking for moisture, don't ignore it. Take time to apply a certified organic moisturizer as needed.

Wash your hands with real soap and water, not detergents...

Friction and water remove bacteria. Don't be fooled by marketing gimmicks that tout the necessity of chemical-laden, antibacterial, detergent-based hand cleansers. USDA certified organic products made from real soap are much better for you and the environment.
