Putumayo's American Music Sampler

Putumayo American Music Sampler--Free with purchase of 2 Putamayo CD's at Terressentials
This CD can be yours--for free!
Are you feeling eclectic, or patriotic? Are you yearning for something down-home and country style? Maybe you're in a jazzy mood, or Zydeco would be just what the doctor ordered. Well, if American music of any kind is what you seek, we have the album for you. Putumayo, the purveyor of melodies from cultures all over the world, has a sampler of songs just from the U.S. of A. It's as energetic, as bluesy, and as earthy as you might imagine, and each song is taken from a different Putumayo album specific to its genre.
The first song, "Out of the Running", by Chatham County Line, comes from Putumayo's updated Americana album. It's wistful, like high school memories in a field of sunflowers, and sincere as a heart on a sleeve. It's followed by the blues-with-attitude"Dust My Broom" by Albert King. "I'm On The Wonder" by Buckwheat Zydeco is the perfect transition – almost more blues than zydeco – and "Call Me Baby", with a soulful harmonica, is the cherry on top of this four-song blues sundae.
The album then moves into the Appalachian region with "Man of Constant Sorrow," the perennial bluegrass favorite, before heading straight into Lousiana with the horns of "Drop Me Off in New Orleans." The classic jazz sounds of Mose Allison's "Don't Get Around Much Anymore" give way to the rhythm and blues of "Let the Good Times Roll." Rodney Crowell's "Les Blues de Bosco" is an accordion lover's Cajun dream. The last song brings the diversity of sound to a perfect peaceful finish with the haunting Native American flute of Andrew Vasquez's "Flying Free."
The best part of this album, though, is that it can be yours, free, in one of two ways: in the store, while supplies last, with your purchase of two other Putumayo CD's, or with the winning entry in our Country Morning Gift Basket contest, which includes many other wonderful organic and fair trade treats. Good luck and happy listening!
